Mama Lou's is looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our growing culinary team. As a Pastry Chef, you will play a key role in crafting a wide selection of delectable pastries, desserts, and baked goods that delight our guests. Your creativity, precision, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen will help elevate the dining experience we proudly offer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods following Mama Lou's recipes and quality standards.
  • Develop new and innovative pastry items aligned with current trends and customer preferences.
  • Oversee the baking and production process to ensure consistent taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of pastry ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to design dessert menus and integrate pastry items into overall offerings.
  • Train, guide, and supervise junior pastry staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry section, following strict food safety guidelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and new ingredients to enhance and expand our pastry lineup.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role, ideally in a high-volume restaurant or bakery.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking principles, and ingredients.
  • Creativity and an eye for unique, appealing pastry presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Culinary degree or certification in pastry arts is a plus.
