Important note: The role will begin as a part-time position requiring 25 hours per week, with the potential to transition to full-time based on performance. Upon transitioning to full-time, the role will require 40 hours of work per week.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for general accounting / bookkeeping of the consolidated group's multi-national Xero accounts. This will include monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining folders and workpapers for audits and tax returns, contributing to management reporting workflows and HR payroll administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations including accrual journals in Xero
- Prepare monthly management accounts in Spotlight Reporting software (API to Xero)
- Administer Rippling payroll and support HR payroll processes.
- Support workflows and documentation through Trello and Confluence.
- Assist in preparation of audited general purpose financial statements, and review those prepared by external administrators for funds
- Assist with audit and tax return preparation and document collation
- Manage month-end operational tasks for investment products – calculations sheets of rebates and capital partner fees as per signed legal agreements, and the administration of these in the accounting system.
- Clear communications to investors and advisors regarding the rebates and capital partner fees
- Other ad-hoc tasks to assist with Finance team and other operational teams, as they arise
Skills/Experience:
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Hands-on experience with Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.
- Experience in management reporting, financial statement preparation, and dealing with auditor queries.
- Exposure to Rippling payroll or other payroll systems is desirable.
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud databases is a plus.
- Familiarity with workflow/documentation tools such as Trello and Confluence is an advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously on tasks, while also contributing as a team player.
- Ability to get things done, and think from first principles.
