Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to oversee end-to-end payables, including payment processing, tax compliance, vendor management, and weekly/monthly reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments through online banking and other channels within 24–48 hours of approval.
  • Manage and categorize payables (subscriptions, utilities, loans, supplies, benefits, statutory obligations, and taxes).
  • Prepare weekly payment schedules and monthly payables reports by the 5th working day.
  • Monitor cash flow, track due dates, and maintain accurate vendor records.
  • Ensure VAT and withholding tax compliance; prepare related reports and documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing and audit trails of all payment documents.
  • Coordinate with vendors, banks, and internal departments for payment approvals and issue resolution.
  • Suggest improvements in AP processes and stay updated on tax regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • CPA license or finance certifications (preferred).
  • 2–3 years' experience in accounts payable, with exposure to PH tax system and BIR compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar), online banking, and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, withholding tax, and government statutory requirements (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for vendor and internal coordination.
  • Based in Cagayan de Oro City; hybrid work setup with occasional overtime during month-end and tax filing.
