Role description

Data Test Manager: · Strategic Ownership: Define and own the overall Data Testing and Quality Assurance strategy for enterprise data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses. · Governance & Frameworks: Establish and institutionalize standardized data testing frameworks, methodologies, and quality governance processes across programs. · Program Management: Manage and oversee multiple data testing projects — ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and efficient resource utilization. · Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders to ensure alignment of data testing with enterprise data initiatives. · Test Planning & Execution Oversight: Drive end-to-end test planning, execution, and sign-off across ETL, data migration, integration, and BI validation layers. · Automation Enablement: Define automation-first strategy leveraging tools like DataGaps, Tricentis Data Integrity, QuerySurge, dbt tests, or custom frameworks to accelerate testing cycles.

· CI/CD Integration: Work with DevOps teams to embed automated data testing within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous data quality checks. · Metrics & Reporting: Define and track KPIs, DQ metrics, and ROI for testing initiatives (e.g., data accuracy, defect leakage, automation coverage). · Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and mentor Data Test Leads and Engineers, promoting skill development in automation, cloud data platforms, and data quality best practices. · Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and test efficiency gains through automation and standardization. · Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure testing alignment with data governance, security, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, CCPA, etc.). · Vendor & Tool Management: Evaluate, onboard, and manage relationships with testing tool vendors and drive PoCs for new tool adoption.
