Qualifications

  • Graduate of any Engineering course.
  • Preferably with 5 years of experience as a Laboratory Technician in a construction set-up.
  • Knowledgeable in sampling, testing, and checking of all construction materials.
  • Experience in operating testing machine such as Radioactive Testing Machine (Troxer) is an advantage.
  • With a valid driver's license.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the testing of samples and properly monitor test results of materials to be used in the construction;
  • Regular review, re-evaluate pouring activities to check the problems encountered with regards to quality and to establish corrective and preventive solutions;
  • Closely monitor, check, and test all incoming deliveries of construction materials like aggregates, rebars, cement among others;
  • Collect, prepare, and label samples for testing, ensuring they are representative and meet quality standards;
  • Support engineers and technicians in conducting tests, analyzing data, and preparing reports;
  • Record test results and data accurately, and maintain organized records;
  • Responsible for conducting Sieve Analysis, Atterberg's Limit, Moisture Density Relation, California Bearing Ratio and Field Density Test;
  • Conduct fine and coarse aggregates testing. Preparation of concrete design mixes;
  • Computation of batch weights and carry out concrete sampling;
  • Assist the Materials Engineer in the preparation of monthly materials report; and
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
