We are a contemporary streetwear brand and this is a small start-up business, we are looking for someone who will grow with the company. You will be working in our studio in Cubao Quezon City from Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm. We are looking for someone who can work productively with minimal supervision. About the the brand BLACKOUT

BLACKOUT is an underground dissident streetwear brand drawing inspiration from the commentary on popular culture, skinhead culture, euro football hooligans and the victims of fashion. We are influenced by skate culture, underground club scene, punk rock culture, grunge, old school hip hop, 90's rave culture, and the streetwear aesthetics of Tokyo, New York, London, Paris, Milan and Berlin. We produce limited edition pieces through artisanal methods using dead stock garments. We are intentionally crass and we revel on being politically incorrect as a response to today's self-righteous norm. We have deep streetwear design roots since 1996 as Havoc. We aim to subvert the fashion status quo and evade the industry while modernizing street style's visual language.

About Adam De Lumen

BLACKOUT's Creative Director Adam De Lumen brings 27 years of Fashion Design, Product Development, Brand Building and Retail Experience. He studied Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in London and attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Adam De Lumen was the founder and designer of the famous cutting edge contemporary streetwear brand Havoc back in 1996 that operated 5 very successful retail boutiques throughout 1997 to 2004 in Manila.

Adam De Lumen was hailed as the "Father of Philippine Streetwear" by the Manila Bulletin in October 1999 for being the first designer to introduce contemporary streetwear to the Philippine retail market in 1997. Adam De Lumen's fashion shows was dubbed avante-garde and was sponsored by Evian during the 90's and showed his collections yearly at Fashion Watch during the late 90's and early 2000's. Adam De Lumen headlined as "1 of the designers to watch out for in 1999" by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and was featured in countless local newspapers and fashion magazine editorials. Havoc by Adam De Lumen was dubbed by the Philippine media and the Philippine fashion industry as alternative fashion back then because the media did not know or understand that Havoc by Adam De Lumen's designs were ahead of its time during the 90's and early 2000's which now has turned out to be what we call contemporary fashion today.

Havoc by Adam De Lumen became a pioneering contemporary streetwear design label in the commercial retail market in the Philippines during the late 90's that changed the retail and fashion landscape in Manila forever, proof of which, retail giants like Bench followed suit and opened Human and Penshoppe opened QXGN in 1999 and "branded" themselves as alternative fashion and streetwear just to compete in the streetwear market in the Philippines that Havoc by Adam De Lumen created and started. To this day Havoc by Adam De Lumen has been a lasting influence to the young streetwear designers in Manila like Rik Rasos of Proudrace.

Between Havoc by Adam De Lumen was carried and sold by Urban Outfitters in New York and California and in 2004 Adam De Lumen moved to California and from 2005 to 2007 worked as a designer at N.I.C.E. Collective (a popular streetwear brand in the U.S.) owned by dance music veterans Joe Haller and Ian Hannula, where he improved his skills and knowledge for streetwear design, retail and branding in North America. In 2008 Adam De Lumen was hired and worked in Design Development for Neuf SARL in Paris, the company that owns Maison Martin Margiela and eventually merged with Staff International in 2011, the company that handles the creative design & development, product research & development, manufacture & production and commercial operations of Maison Margiela owned by Only the Brave where his expertise and industry knowledge of contemporary fashion design, brand building, product development and manufacture came from. Adam De Lumen worked directly under contemporary fashion design masters Demna Gvasalia, Matthieu Blazy and John Galliano while in Maison Margiela.

In March of 2018 he was hired as a Product Research and Development Consultant for North American Markets for Kering, the company that owns the luxury houses of Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen where he consulted with the design team of various fashion houses under Kering for the product design development of luxury goods that are allotted for the North American markets.

Adam De Lumen has always been inspired by contemporary design masters like Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Christopher Nemeth, Martin Margiela, Lamine Kouyate, Walter Van Beirendonck, An Vandevorst, Filip Arikcx, Helmut Lang, Geoffrey B Small, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tsumori Chisato, Maki Hiroshige, Masaki Matsushima, Shinichiro Arakawa, Takao Yamashita, Wim Neels, Jean Colonna, 's Masahiro Nakagawa, Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag since the early 90's and their influence and vision will hugely be referenced and reinterpreted in BLACKOUT garments

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative and design support

Assist with developing new concepts, styles, colors, and patterns for collections.

Conduct research on current and emerging fashion trends, market demands, and customer preferences.

Create mood boards, trend boards, and design presentations.

Create Patterns and Grade Patterns

Produce detailed sketches and technical drawings using hand methods and design software like Photoshop and CANVA

Create images for silk screen printing using Photoshop

Create patterns, samples, and prototypes.

Participate in fittings and make adjustments to garments as needed.

Assist in photo-shoots and look book and catalogue production

Make samples and prototypes

Production and sourcing

Creating cost sheets

Source and select fabrics, trims, and other materials.

Make and produce actual products

Prepare technical specification sheets (tech packs) for production.

Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers

Inspect product quality during the design and production process.

Administrative and organization

Maintain organized design studios and material libraries.

Maintain and organize E Commerce Website Inventory and product updates to be uploaded

Assist in E-Commerce fulfilment duties

Document designs and specifications for future reference.

Manage administrative tasks, schedule meetings, and handle design-related projects.

Add product details to management systems for production and sales.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Entry Level Positon but having experience as an assistant designer is a plus

Must be a Fashion School Graduate

Must be an expert in Pattern Making and Grading

Must be an expert in operating various kinds of industrial sewing machines and equipment (Sewing machine, piping machine, button holer machine, gartering machine, piping machine and edging machine)

Must be able to create garments from idea to design to pattern to actual product

Knowledgeable in computer-aided designing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Adobe Illustrator

Must be able to lift/carry items/boxes/packages up to 50 kilograms

Must know how to sew garments as per instructed and as per sample using various sewing machines like Highspeed, Button Holer attachment, Edging, Piping folder type, Piping cylinder, Gartering Machine and Side Cutter

Excellent concept creation skills and incredible attention to detail

Knows how to digitize, grading, marking and printing/plotting of markers for patterns.

Well-verse in garments and pattern inspection/checking.

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word

Proficient with Canva and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Ability to do sketches by hand.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to meet multiple deadlines

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Pay: Php18, Php20,000.00 per month
