We're hiring a Data Analyst to join Respondent's newly established Business Insights team. This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves turning messy questions into clear answers — and helping a fast-moving startup make smarter decisions with data.

Respondent is building the infrastructure that powers participant recruiting for the research industry. Our mission is simple but ambitious: to make it effortless for researchers to find high-quality human participants - whether they're testing a product, exploring a market, or validating an idea.

From our founder's first recruits on a NYC subway to a global panel of 3 million participants across 150+ countries, we now support research for companies like Microsoft, Dropbox, and P&G. Our panel is one of the most diverse and responsive in the industry.

We're a lean team of ~30 people across Sydney, Manila, and the U.S. We've recently become profitable and we are ramping up to accelerate growth.

The role

You'll join our newly established Business Insights team as a Data Analyst. This team sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and operations, acting as a central insights hub that helps teams across the business make better decisions.

This is a generalist role where you'll work closely with Commercial, Product, and Leadership to answer key questions and drive strategic action. You'll spend time building dashboards and reporting,, and running deeper analysis on key drivers when needed.

What you'll do

  • Partner with teams across the business
    to translate business questions into structured analysis and clear insights
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting
    that help teams track performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Define and own core business metrics
    to ensure consistency, accuracy, and trust across the business
  • Evaluate key business initiatives
    (A/B tests, pilots, process changes) to measure impact and guide iteration
  • Run deep-dive analysis on key drivers
    (e.g. growth, retention, customer behaviour, operational performance) to identify opportunities and support prioritisation of business decisions

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years experience in data/insights/analytics roles
  • Strong technical foundations across SQL + Python (pandas, scipy, statsmodels, and scikit-learn), and experience building dashboards in tools like Mode, Tableau, or similar
  • Strong analytical judgement - you can go from messy questions to structured analysis and clear insights
  • High attention to detail and a real commitment to data quality and consistency
  • Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally and clear explain insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
