CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:

SMT Expert Engineer

The SMT Expert Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and supporting all Surface Mount Technology processes to ensure high-quality electronic assembly production. This includes setup, programming, troubleshooting, process improvement, equipment maintenance, and training of operators and technicians to achieve efficiency, quality, and yield targets.

1. Process and Production Support

• Develop and optimize SMT assembly processes, including stencil printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and inspection.
• Prepare and verify SMT machine programs, component feeders, and setup sheets.
• Ensure proper line setup and first article verification before production run.
• Monitor daily production performance and troubleshoot process or equipment issues promptly.

2. Equipment Management

• Operate, program, and maintain SMT machines such as screen printers, pick-and-place systems, reflow ovens, and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration to ensure machine reliability and accuracy.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers for technical support and upgrades.

3. Quality and Continuous Improvement

• Analyze defects and identify root causes using tools such as Pareto analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects and improve yield.
• Collaborate with QA, Engineering, and Production teams to enhance process capability and product quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate production records, setup data, and process control documentation.
• Generate daily or weekly reports on line performance, downtime, and yield.
• Support preparation for audits (ISO, customer, or internal).

5. Training and Support

• Train operators and technicians on SMT machine operation, maintenance, and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to improve team skills and process understanding.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical education).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT line operation, process engineering, or maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with SMT machines (e.g., Yamaha, Panasonic, Fuji, Juki, Mydata, or similar).
• Strong understanding of solder paste application, reflow profiling, and PCB assembly standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
• Knowledge in SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis is an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and production monitoring systems.
