Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer / Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates and technical evaluations for projects and equipment requirements. This role involves analyzing drawings, technical data, and client specifications to create a precise cost breakdown that serves as the foundation for quotations prepared by the Proposal Specialist.
The Sales Engineer ensures all cost elements—including installation, mobilization, and project management—are properly entered and maintained in FileMaker for pricing consistency and quotation accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A.) Technical Review and Cost Estimation
1.) Review and analyze project drawings, client requirements, and scope of work.
2.) Prepare detailed cost estimates including equipment, materials, installation, mobilization, and project management costs.
3.) Input all cost data (installation, mobilization, project management, logistics, etc.) into the 4.) FileMaker system to ensure all cost components are captured accurately.
5.) Coordinate with the Proposal Specialist for quotation buildup and pricing accuracy.
6.) Evaluate and compare supplier quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and commercial competitiveness.
7.) Recommend value engineering options or alternatives to improve project cost-efficiency.
8.) Recommend design or specification adjustments to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
B.) Coordination and Proposal Support
1.) Coordinate closely with the Proposal Specialist to ensure all cost inclusions are reflected in the final quotation.
2.) Review quotation content for accuracy before endorsement to the Sales Admin – Technical Supervisor for final checking.
3.) Provide clarifications to the Sales Executive and clients regarding scope and technical inclusions.
4.) Participate in meetings with Sales and Project Teams to ensure alignment between estimated and actual scope.
C.) Coordination & Unit Sales Handover
1.) Coordinate with Operations and Procurement Teams to align material requirements and delivery timelines.
2.) Provide technical handover documents to Operations after implementation.
3.) Assist in resolving technical or cost-related queries raised during installation or post-sales stages.
D.) Data Management & Continuous Improvement
1.) Maintain and update estimation databases, price lists, and costing templates in FileMaker or other internal systems.
2.) Track bid outcomes, win/loss ratios, and pricing trends for continuous improvement in estimating accuracy.
3.) Support the Business Development Team in exploring new technologies and suppliers that improve proposal competitiveness.
E.) Post-Award and Continuous Improvement
1.) Provide technical and cost data to the Project Management team after award to ensure proper handover.
2.) Participate in post-project reviews to analyze estimation accuracy and cost variances.
3.) Continuously monitor market and supplier trends to update cost references and maintain competitiveness.
4.) Suggest improvements in estimation workflow, templates, and FileMaker usage for better accuracy and efficiency.
F.) Other Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager or Engineering Head.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (licensed engineer preferred).
- At least 2–3 years of experience in cost estimation, project sales, or technical sales (preferably in kitchen, laundry, or MEPFS projects).
- Advantage: Experience in engineering, construction, or equipment supply industry with exposure to quotations, contracts, or accreditation processes.

Pay: Php25, Php30,000.00 per month
