Company Description

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is the implementing arm of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in the Philippines. Our primary mission is to administer a comprehensive national civil defense and disaster risk reduction and management program by providing leadership in the continuous development of strategic and systematic approaches, as well as measures to reduce the vulnerabilities and risks to hazards and manage the consequences of disasters.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop a Crisis and Risk Communications Plan to improve media engagement and on-line presence and strengthen crisis and risk communications;
  2. Manage the official Social Media platforms including but not limited to uploading of public advisories, articles, advocacy campaigns, facilitation of feedback mechanism, etc;
  3. Prepare an executive briefer/talking points/speech for the Undersecretary and his authorized representative/ key officials;
  4. Manage media briefing including but not limited to preparation of press kit and crafting of press releases;
  5. Provide augmentation in the 24/7 Operations Center during Red alert; and
  6. Perform other functions as may be directed.
