We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Management Specialist to oversee cost modeling, chargeback, and showback processes for shared services. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain cost models, ensure accurate cost allocation, and provide transparency into service consumption and cost recovery. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and expertise in cost optimization within a shared services framework.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost Modeling & Analysis:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize cost models for shared services to ensure accurate allocation of expenses.

  • Analyze service consumption data and operational costs to refine cost models.

  • Work closely with finance, IT, and business units to define cost drivers and allocation methodologies.

  • Ensure cost models align with financial goals, compliance standards, and business strategies.

Chargeback & Showback Management:

  • Implement and manage chargeback and showback frameworks to distribute shared service costs transparently.

  • Ensure chargeback methodologies are fair, justifiable, and aligned with service usage.

  • Provide regular cost breakdowns and reports to business units, explaining service costs and allocation methods.

  • Monitor chargeback disputes and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.

Financial Planning & Reporting:

  • Generate detailed financial reports and dashboards to track shared service costs, allocations, and recovery rates.

  • Conduct variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve cost efficiency.

  • Provide insights into cost trends, forecast future service expenses, and recommend budget adjustments.

  • Support audits by ensuring cost allocation methodologies are well-documented and justifiable.

Stakeholder Engagement & Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to improve cost transparency.

  • Communicate cost management principles and methodologies to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.

  • Identify areas for automation and process enhancement in cost tracking and reporting.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in cost management and shared service chargeback models.

Requirements:

  • Has Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in cost management, financial planning, or IT finance, preferably in a shared services or IT environment

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Proficiency in cost modeling and allocation methodologies.

  • Experience with financial reporting tools, ERP systems, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with cloud cost management platforms (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) is a plus.
