Your Role
As a Project Engineer - SMP, you will:

• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that project plans are implemented in accordance with designs and specifications.
• Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects, review and make recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
• Support the procurement process for contractors with the Commercial/Procurement team.
• Assist with preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
• Understand and implement quality control techniques and take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances.
• Prepare and issue weekly status reports and provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed.
• Monitor construction progress for the area of work against programme and budget.
• Ensure required Quality Control processes are created, maintained and used correctly (ITP's, ITR's, etc).
• Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements and research relevant topics to improve knowledge and skills.
• Identify, raise and manage variations to the Contract, working with Senior Engineers, Project Manager and Contracts team as required.
• Observe safe systems of work relevant to the work area and report potential hazards and environmental risks.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders relating to the area of work.
• Ensure appropriate resources are allocated for the project to ensure required productivity levels are achieved.
• Create technical documents, reports, and manuals to document work, design processes, and project progress.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and codes.
• Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries.
• Lead, manage and provide guidance to Graduate Engineer(s).
• Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed.

What You Need:
Non-negotiables

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical)
• Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite
• Project planning, organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred skills/expertise

• Chartered or NER credentials
• Continuing professional development or CPD
• Experience with Power BI
• Previous project experience on similar projects ideally in the construction, mining or oil and gas sector
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (preferred)
