About the Role

The HR & Payroll Administrator provides administrative support to the People Operations team, primarily focused on payroll and HR-related coordination during high-volume seasonal periods supporting approximately 2,000 temporary staff. This role does not own payroll execution but supports accuracy, data management, onboarding administration, and employee inquiries, enabling the team to operate efficiently during peak demand. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, adaptability, and comfort working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift, and collaboration is essential.

What you'll do

  • Payroll & People Operations Support

  • Provide administrative support to payroll processes for seasonal and regular staff, including data preparation, validation, and documentation.

  • Audit and verify timekeeping and payroll-related data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in responding to employee payroll-related questions with professionalism, clarity, and empathy.
  • Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and periodic audits as needed.
  • Maintain organized and accurate payroll records in alignment with internal processes.
  • HR Administrative Support

  • Support high-volume onboarding activities for seasonal staff, including documentation tracking, system updates, and coordination with internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across HR systems and shared files.
  • Assist with HR operational projects, including training coordination, process documentation, and compliance-related activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the People Operations team, including scheduling, tracking tasks, and preparing internal reports.
  • General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with People Operations team members to support evolving priorities throughout the year.

  • Adapt to changing workflows and seasonal demands with a positive and flexible approach.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with discretion, confidentiality, and care.
  • Ask questions proactively, communicate clearly, and flag issues early to support smooth team operations.

What You Bring

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in HR administration, payroll support, or a similar people-focused administrative role (payroll experience is helpful but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data, records, and documentation.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience supporting high-volume or seasonal operations is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP is a plus, but not a requirement.
