Job description

  • Assist with eye exams, diagnostic tests, and minor surgical procedures.

  • Administer prescribed eye medications and monitor patient responses.

  • Educate patients on medications, procedures, post-treatment care, and eye health.

  • Prepare surgical and procedure rooms; ensure sterile conditions and proper equipment setup.

  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and medical history.

  • Assist in the preparation and recovery of patients before and after eye surgeries (cataract surgery).

  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold confidentiality protocols.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and clinical safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to enhance patient care quality.

  • Perform admin function as may be required

  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.

  • Experience in ophthalmology or outpatient surgical care is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of eye anatomy, common eye conditions, and treatments.

  • Skilled in administering eye drops, injections, and assisting in eye procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills.

  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities.

  • Basic computer proficiency, especially with electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Ability to remain calm in urgent situations and multitask effectively.
