Radiology Nurse

Pre-Procedural Care

• Complete and update radiology assessment forms, including medical history, allergies, contraindications for contrast media, and vital signs.

• Ensure that all informed consent forms for contrast media, sedation, and interventional procedures are properly signed and filed.

• Educate and prepare patients for procedures, explaining potential risks and addressing any questions or concerns.

• Establish IV access for contrast administration or sedation as required.

Intra-Procedural Support

• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort levels throughout the procedure.

• Administer medications or sedatives under the direction of a physician.

• Assist radiologists during interventional or invasive procedures.

• Respond promptly to adverse reactions or medical emergencies during imaging exams.

Post-Procedural Care

• Monitor patients during the recovery period following sedation or contrast administration.

• Provide post-procedure instructions and education to patients and their caregivers.

• Document all nursing care, assessments, medications administered, and any incidents accurately and timely.

Coordination and Communication

• Collaborate effectively with physicians, radiologic technologists, and fellow nurses.

• Ensure the safe and timely transport of patients to and from the radiology department.

• Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation and procedural records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Valid PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) nursing license

• Certified in IV Therapy, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in critical care, emergency, or radiology nursing preferred

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

• Proficient in IV insertion and medication administration

• Excellent communication and patient education abilities

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
