This is a brief, part-time job description for a highly experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our SQL Server environment. The ideal candidate will work approximately 4 hours per day, focusing on database performance, stability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

* Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, index optimization, and data consistency checks.

* Performance Tuning: Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in queries, stored procedures, and server configuration.

* Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve complex database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

* Security Management: Manage database security, user permissions, and roles in compliance with company policies.

* Monitoring & Reporting: Configure and utilize monitoring tools to track database health and provide status reports to the IT team.

* Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation for all database configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.
