Role outline: (About the Role)

The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial information, supporting the finance team in daily operations, and contributing to financial reporting.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and ensure timely collections. Reconcile accounts as needed.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software and maintain financial databases.
  • Fixed assets – maintaining and reconciling fixed asset
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance
  • Client invoicing - ensure that computation is accurate and sent on the required deadline
  • Payroll - ensure computation is accurate and payslips are released on the date of the payout
  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Support in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist in variance analysis and reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct preliminary analysis of financial data to support decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbook, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
