Responsibilities
The Crew and Family Welfare Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and welfare of SCM seafarer and their families. They provide support services, counseling, and assistance to the families, both before and after seafarer's deployments. The role involves promoting a positive work and facilitating communication between seafarers and their families while seafarers are onboard.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling or any related field
· Previous experience in counseling, social work or a similar role, preferably in the same industry
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with diverse individuals.
· Knowledge of welfare services and resources available to seafarers and their families.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in relevant software applications for documentation and reporting.
