Web Development Virtual Assistant (VA)

Remote | Contract

We are seeking a skilled Web Development Virtual Assistant (VA) to manage the full lifecycle of website development, optimization, and technical maintenance across multiple platforms. This role combines front-end development, hosting and DNS administration, UX/UI support, and marketing integrations to ensure secure, high-performing, and user-friendly websites.

You will collaborate with internal teams to deliver reliable web solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain efficient system integrations.


Key Responsibilities
Website Development & CMS Management
  • Build, update, and maintain responsive websites using Webflow, Shopify, WordPress, and Squarespace
  • Customize templates, layouts, and styles using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Optimize plugins, themes, and site performance across CMS platforms
  • Support e-commerce customization using Shopify Liquid
  • Create landing pages for campaigns and lead generation
  • Conduct cross-browser testing and quality assurance
Technical Configuration & Coding
  • Implement front-end enhancements for performance and interactivity
  • Perform basic PHP edits for WordPress environments
  • Configure API integrations and automation workflows
  • Manage version control using Git/GitHub
  • Apply SEO best practices including metadata, accessibility (WCAG), schema, and site optimization
UX/UI & Design Support
  • Create layouts and mockups using Figma or Canva
  • Ensure consistent branding, accessibility, and responsive design
  • Optimize content structure and imagery for engagement and conversion
Hosting, Domain & DNS Administration
  • Manage domains, hosting environments, and DNS configurations
  • Configure DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV)
  • Set up and validate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Manage SSL certificates, HTTPS redirects, and security settings
  • Perform site migrations, backups, and restores using FTP/SFTP or cPanel
  • Diagnose and resolve hosting, DNS, and SSL issues
Security, Performance & Optimization
  • Maintain site security through updates, backups, and monitoring
  • Configure caching and CDNs for optimal site speed
  • Monitor uptime, performance, and compliance standards
Integrations, Marketing & Analytics
  • Implement Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Search Console
  • Integrate CRM, email marketing, and automation tools
  • Set up event tracking, funnels, and conversion reporting
Collaboration & Documentation
  • Maintain technical documentation and version control logs
  • Communicate progress, issues, and timelines clearly
  • Manage multiple projects with accountability and attention to detail

Qualifications
Required
  • Experience with Webflow, Shopify, WordPress, and Squarespace
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and basic PHP
  • Experience with hosting, DNS, SSL, and email authentication
  • Familiarity with cPanel, FTP/SFTP, Cloudflare, and site migrations
  • Strong understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and accessibility
  • Experience with Figma or Canva
  • Knowledge of analytics and automation tools
Preferred
  • Experience with React, , or
