ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects. This role includes preparing electrical plans, specifications, and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards, and providing technical support throughout project execution. The Electrical Engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, reliable, and code-compliant electrical solutions that meet project and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and auxiliary systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, load calculations, and cost estimates.

  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to determine existing conditions and project requirements.

  • Ensure that all electrical designs comply with local codes, international standards, and safety regulations (e.g., PEC, IEEE, IEC, NFPA, NEC).

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Architectural) and project stakeholders to integrate electrical designs with overall project plans.

  • Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications related to electrical systems.

  • Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.

  • Resolve technical issues and provide support during construction and handover phases.

  • Participate in project meetings, prepare technical reports, and assist in client presentations as needed.

  • Stay updated on new technologies, sustainable practices, and industry trends in electrical engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Licensed Electrical Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer (as per local regulation).

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical design and construction supervision.

  • Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., Philippine Electrical Code, NEC, NFPA, IEEE).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

  • Willingness to conduct site visits and fieldwork as needed.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience in MEP coordination and BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.

  • Knowledge in renewable energy systems (e.g., solar PV) is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with SCADA, BMS, or intelligent building systems.

  • Experience with infrastructure, utilities, or high-rise building projects.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with frequent site visits depending on project stage.

  • May be required to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.

  • Collaboration with architects, consultants, and contractors is routine.
