Social Media and Marketing Coordinator (SMC)

The Social Media Coordinator creates effective communication and relationships between the company and customers, mainly through social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. The SMC will oversee client correspondence and resolve customer inquiries through social media platforms promptly. Manage, motivate, and mobilize different teams within the organization to increase brand awareness and support, and maintain a friendly attitude and strong oral and written communication skills to coordinate with others in the team. The SMC may manage a supervisor's travel arrangements or schedule, and they may carefully plan and successfully set up company events.

Additionally responsible for managing campaigns online and generate copies for ads and blogs; may also oversee reviewing product designs and advertising prints. SMC also generates creative ideas to advocate company products or services, takes part in creating and distributing newsletters, and updates the organization's online presence through posts and responses to questions.

SMC typically works in an office setting during regular business hours but may work additional hours during evenings and weekends for events and other promotional duties. Must have a strong awareness of privacy policies and pay strong attention to detail. Works under strict deadlines and must be capable of multitasking while representing the organization positively. Must also recognize emerging technologies and trends, as well as develop and use effective marketing techniques to promote sales.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Imagine and create web post that nurture community interaction and conversation.

  • Manage marketing efforts across social media platforms.

  • Work with marketing and other departments to develop brand and message.

  • Analyze performance metrics to increase productivity of posts.

  • Design and develop marketing materials

  • Liaise and correspond with outside vendors and suppliers

  • Create branding and "banner" slogans

  • Monitor production of marketing materials

  • Oversee distribution of marketing materials

  • Draft press and media releases

  • Liaise with public relations and media contacts

  • Help prepare and conduct product presentations

  • Help plan, coordinate, and participate in marketing events

  • Execute direct marketing campaigns

  • Prepare online marketing campaigns

  • Develop and implement strategies for social media platforms

  • Update company website and social media tools

  • Conduct market research

  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends

  • Monitor and assess customer feedback

  • Maintain customer information via marketing database and CRM system

  • Collect and analyze sales data to prepare marketing reports

  • Track, coordinate and assemble data to measure outcomes of marketing programs

  • Communicate with sales and production regarding product and pricing changes

  • Maintain promotional materials inventory

  • Maintain archive of marketing materials

  • Ensure marketing activities comply with state and federal regulations

  • Liaise with human resources to creating recruiting campaigns and strategies

  • Must maintain activity logs, status reports and reports to Director of Operations

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in social media management and project coordination.

  • Proficiency with or other project management and CRM tools.

  • Strong graphic design skills with experience using design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Experience liaising with vendors and suppliers.

  • Knowledge of using Marquees or similar tools to manage business listings and Google Business profiles is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a social media coordinator or similar role.

  • Familiarity with other social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).

  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
