Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the Finance Department in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. The role involves handling general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, managing reconciliations, assisting in audits, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Recording & Reporting

  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with PFRS (Philippine Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analysis.

Accounts Management

  • Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely posting and reconciliation.
  • Monitor expense reports, accruals, and amortizations.
  • Review aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.

Audit & Compliance

  • Assist in internal and external audit requirements by providing supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with BIR regulations and other government requirements (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax).
  • Support the preparation and filing of statutory returns.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in accounting processes and controls.
  • Support the implementation of accounting systems and digital tools for efficiency.

Team Support

  • Mentor and guide junior accounting associates in daily tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding budget monitoring, expense validation, and financial queries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA license preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in general accounting or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of PFRS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, under strict deadlines.
