Job Purpose and Scope:

Coal Plant Support Services

The Service Provider shall provide operations support services to assist in the monitoring, inspection, and upkeep of Coal Plant systems and related auxiliary operations. These services include:

  • Assisting in routine inspections of conveyors, dust suppression systems, dust collectors, light fuel oil systems, and marker buoys.
  • Supporting parameter reading and alarm response activities for conveyor systems, silos, ship unloaders, and stackers/reclaimers.
  • Providing support in light fuel oil operations including delivery monitoring, tank sounding, level readings, valve manipulation, and pump changeover.
  • Assisting in the safe handling and lifting of portable diesel tanks and delivery-related tasks (e.g., spill boom deployment, unloading arm setup, parking).
  • Supporting spontaneous combustion monitoring and mitigation efforts in coal storage areas.
  • Providing assistance in obtaining conveyor integrator readings and in clearing detected foreign objects during metal detection.
  • Performing daily cleaning of assigned areas and coordinating area housekeeping efforts, including oversight of third-party contractors.
  • Participating in safety-related programs such as toolbox talks, drills, and site training activities.
  • Assisting in the receipt and monitoring of LFO (Light Fuel Oil) deliveries and ship hatch status during unloading activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in routine inspections of Conveyors.
  • Assist in routine inspections of the dust suppression system.
  • Assist in routine inspections of Dust collectors.
  • Assist in routine inspection of light fuel oil systems.
  • Inspect marker buoys.
  • Performs daily cleaning and inspection of all equipment assigned.
  • Report equipment defects.
  • Monitoring and mitigation of coal spontaneous combustion.
  • Parameter reading of light fuel oil system.
  • Monitoring of silo filling operations and attending to alarms.
  • Monitors conveyor operations and assist in attending to alarms.
  • Assist in the operation of stacker/reclaimer by re-setting alarms.
  • Assist in the operation of ship unloader by re-setting alarms.
  • Helps in housekeeping of the area by leading the contractors.
  • Monitors the status of the ship's hatches during coal unloading.
  • Relieves the stacker/reclaimer operator when the need arises.
  • Participate in safety programs such as tool box meetings, safety training, and drills.
  • Assist in lifting of portable diesel tank for trimming doze.
  • Assist and monitor light fuel oil delivery including tank level reading and valve manipulation, spill boom laying, unloading arm lowering, and parking
  • Assist in light fuel oil pump changeover.
  • Obtains conveyor integrator readings.
  • Assist in metal detection removal of detected foreign objects.
  • Conduct and/or assist in sounding of LFO tanks.
  • Conduct and/or assist in receiving of LFO lorries.

Qualifications

  • With at least 1-2 years working experience related in the field
  • At least High School Graduate/A graduate of any Technical Course
  • Basic knowledge in mechanical and electrical field
  • Ability to identify defects
  • Familiar with the power plant coal handling equipment and its auxiliaries locations
  • Familiar with Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedure
