Salesforce Engineer

The Salesforce Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable Salesforce solutions that support business operations and strategic goals. This role ensures the Salesforce platform is optimized for performance, usability, and data integrity, while integrating with other enterprise systems where necessary. The Salesforce Engineer works closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, leveraging best practices to enhance user experience and deliver measurable business value.

• Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce applications, components, and integrations to meet business and technical requirements.
• Configure and customise Salesforce environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Implement and manage database and data model designs to support business intelligence, analytics, and data integrity.
• Oversee configuration and release management, including deployment, version control, and change tracking processes.
• Investigate and resolve application issues, ensuring system reliability, availability, and adherence to support procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and integrate system components within enterprise architecture.
• Develop and maintain automation tools and lifecycle processes for software development, deployment, and testing.
• Design and execute testing strategies, including automated and manual testing, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Model and document system and software designs using appropriate techniques to communicate technical solutions effectively.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and standards to ensure efficient and secure delivery.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members through documentation, training, and learning activities to build technical capability.

Essential:

• Proven experience in Salesforce engineering or development roles, with strong proficiency in Salesforce configuration, customisation, and integration.
• Hands-on experience with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP/Bulk).
• Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, including data modelling, database design, and data management principles.
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and release management tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Copado, Gearset).
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with best practices and governance standards.
• Strong capability in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system monitoring to ensure application reliability and optimisation.
• Experience with system and data integration across multiple enterprise applications and platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile or DevOps environments, contributing to iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and share technical knowledge across teams.

Desirable:

• Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Administrator, or Salesforce Application Architect.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Provar, or similar).
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts (e.g. AWS, Azure) and modern software design patterns.
• Experience in mentoring or training junior engineers or business users on Salesforce tools and best practices.
