Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in supporting powerplant projects during the pre-construction and early execution phases. This role is focused on technical preparation, contractor/vendor evaluation, procurement alignment, and ensuring all project documentation and requirements are in place before implementation. The position requires a solid background in mechanical engineering within the power or EPC industry, with emphasis on bridging technical design and project execution readiness.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review bid documents, technical specifications, and scopes of work for mechanical systems/packages.
  • Evaluate contractor and vendor proposals, participate in bid evaluations, and support the awarding process.
  • Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams to align technical and contractual requirements.
  • Review and validate mechanical drawings, datasheets, and design submissions from contractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain project documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and contractual standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams (civil, electrical, instrumentation) to align technical and project requirements.
  • Provide technical support during pre-construction activities, including permitting, clarifications, and contractor mobilization.
  • Assist in project scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting during early project phases.
  • Support the transition of awarded mechanical packages to the construction and operations teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in powerplant or EPC industry.
  • Strong background in procurement, bidding, and contractor/vendor evaluation.
  • Experience as a project engineer or involvement in early-phase project development is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in CAD or similar design/engineering software.
  • Strong technical documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
