Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy Revenue Accounting Specialist to join the revenue group of a U.S.-based oil & gas company. This role focuses on processing revenue for non-operated oil and gas properties, leveraging Excel and various accounting platforms to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process oil and gas revenue data for non-operated properties by preparing import files and/or performing manual entries in Enertia ERP
  • Retrieve and organize monthly revenue files from EnergyLink and MineralAnswers platforms
  • Format and upload revenue data to the accounting system with attention to accuracy and consistency
  • Analyze revenue receivables and payment discrepancies to ensure timely collection
  • Support monthly revenue close by maintaining schedules, reconciling revenue entries, and performing data validation
  • Assist in preparing audit documentation and responding to internal or external information requests
  • Collaborate closely with U.S.-based revenue team members to understand unique revenue workflows and system quirks
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication, flagging issues early and following through on resolutions
  • Apply internal process notes and documentation to ensure consistent month-end execution
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline imports and reconciliation steps

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and subtotal functions
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms and formatting data for imports and exports
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage large volumes of financial data
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, ideally with exposure to revenue receivables
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with U.S.-based team members
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—for effective collaboration and issue escalation
  • Ability to work US hours, with flexibility once independently working in the role dependent on client preferences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Enertia ERP for oil and gas revenue processing
  • Prior exposure to EnergyLink or MineralAnswers platforms
  • Background in oil and gas accounting, especially with non-operated revenue
  • Experience preparing import templates or formatting Excel-based data for accounting systems
