Job Summary

Document Controller (CAD) plays crucial role in translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings that serve as blueprints for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create Technical Drawings: Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or other design professionals
  • Maintain Drawing Files: Organize and manage drawing files systematically, including version control and documentation of revisions
  • Verify the accuracy of drawings by cross-referencing with project specifications, and ensure all design elements are correctly represented
  • Review and check drawings for compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and internal quality control procedures
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and integrate their feedback into the drawings
  • Ensure all documentation complies with internal and external standards and regulations
  • Identify opportunities for improving document control and process standardization
  • Monitor the progress of drawing related tasks and ensure that deadlines are met.

Competency:

  • Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology or a related field
  • With previous experience working as a CAD Operator or in a similar drafting role
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and related tools
  • Familiarity with related software and tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), project management software or other CAD applications (2D,3D) can be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Basic knowledge of engineering or architectural principles may be required depending on the industry and type of projects
