Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing production processes in the printing and packaging operations to ensure maximum efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. The role involves conducting time and motion studies, developing standard operating procedures, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and reduce waste across all stages of production — from pre-press to post-press operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Process Analysis and Optimization

• Conduct time and motion studies (TMS) for printing, die-cutting, folding, gluing, lamination, and binding operations.
• Evaluate workflow layouts, material flow, and operator efficiency to identify bottlenecks.
• Recommend improvements to reduce idle time, setup time, and production downtime.
• Standardize machine cycle times and define capacity per shift or per hour per machine.
• Define the sequence of activities, required materials, tools, and manpower per process.
• Identify process variations between shifts or machines and establish one best method as the standard.

2. Production Planning Support

• Collaborate with the PPIC in preparing capacity and load planning based on customer forecasts and job orders.
• Analyze machine and manpower utilization and assist in developing balanced production schedules.
• Provide input on manpower requirements and shift allocation based on workload.

3. Standardization and Documentation

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each process.
• Create and update Work Instructions, Job Aids, and Checklists for operators and QC.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

4. Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives

• Lead and implement Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing practices within production areas.
• Participate in root cause analysis for efficiency or quality-related issues.
• Propose and execute projects to reduce material waste, rework, and machine downtime.

5. Data Analysis and Reporting

• Prepare and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as OLE, MPR, efficiency %, and rejection rate.
• Analyze production data and provide reports with actionable insights to management.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through process improvement and resource optimization.

6. Process Validation and Compliance

• Conduct validation runs for newly set standards or process changes.
• Audit operator compliance with approved SOPs and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with QA and Production teams for process-related issues and improvements.

7. Coordination and Collaboration

• Work closely with the Production Supervisors, Quality, and Planning to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide training and coaching to operators on new methods or equipment improvements.
• Assist in subcontractor evaluation and performance monitoring when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a printing, packaging, or manufacturing setup.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel / Google Sheets, and time study tools.
• Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Process Improvement Techniques.
• Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
• Basic understanding of Quality Systems (GMP, ISO, 5S).
• Data-driven mindset and strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php35,000.00 per month
