Purchasing Clerk

- Manage orders: Process purchase orders, monitor their status, and track deliveries to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain records: Keep accurate records of all purchases, inventory levels, contracts, and shipping details.
- Vendor relations: Compare prices and products from different vendors to find the best value and negotiate favorable terms.
- Inventory control: Monitor inventory levels and help assess needs to maintain adequate stock.
- Problem-solving: Address issues such as incorrect items being shipped and handle returns.
- Internal coordination: Work with other departments to understand their supply needs and coordinate with the receiving department on deliveries.
Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically required, though some positions may prefer a post-secondary degree.
- Experience: Previous experience in administrative, inventory, or invoicing roles can be beneficial.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with computers, especially spreadsheet software
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
