About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to lead the human resources operations of an educational institution. The HR Manager will be responsible for implementing HR strategies, managing employee life cycle processes, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and fostering a positive and productive school culture that aligns with the institution's mission and values.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in HR management within academic or service-oriented environments, combining strong administrative skills with empathy, professionalism, and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy and Organizational Development

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the institution's goals and vision.
  • Advise school leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and manpower needs.
  • Support a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning across faculty and staff.

2. Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for academic, administrative, and support positions.
  • Coordinate with department heads to identify staffing needs and job requirements.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.

3. Performance Management & Employee Relations

  • Implement and monitor the performance appraisal system and KPI frameworks.
  • Provide coaching and support to department heads on performance improvement and feedback.
  • Handle employee relations matters, grievances, and conflict resolution in a fair and consistent manner.

4. Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with government regulations (DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Review compensation structures to maintain internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, labor laws, and accreditation requirements.

5. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and create professional development programs for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, and certification programs aligned with institutional goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lifelong learning.

6. HR Administration & Policy Management

  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and documentation.
  • Develop, review, and update HR policies and employee handbook.
  • Lead HR-related audits and reports for management and accreditation bodies.

7. Employee Engagement & Well-being

  • Design initiatives to promote employee engagement, retention, and workplace morale.
  • Coordinate recognition programs, wellness activities, and community-building events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Preferably with experience in the education industry or other service-oriented organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, HR processes, and government compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
