Job Title: Biodiversity Department Head

Location: Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte

Work Setup: Onsite | Direct Hire

Gross Monthly Rate: ₱80,000.00 – ₱90,000.00

(Inclusive of relocation, laundry, rice, medical, and clothing allowances)

Job Summary:

The Biodiversity Department Head will lead and coordinate all biodiversity monitoring and conservation initiatives in compliance with the Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standard (CCB). This role involves managing field-based monitoring activities, mentoring the biodiversity team, and ensuring the effective implementation of conservation programs under the Biodiversity Conservation Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate field-based biodiversity monitoring and conservation activities aligned with VCS and CCB standards.
  • Directly manage a biodiversity field team, ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Supervise long-term ecological studies, including camera trapping and wildlife monitoring.
  • Oversee species assessments, habitat evaluations, and community-based conservation programs.
  • Design and implement training and capacity-building programs for field staff and local/indigenous communities.
  • Ensure accurate data interpretation and comprehensive biodiversity reporting.
  • Collaborate with conservation partners, government agencies, and stakeholders to strengthen biodiversity initiatives.
  • Provide technical input on wildlife protection, species recovery plans, and habitat management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in biodiversity surveys, camera trapping, and field supervision.
  • Proven experience in long-term ecological monitoring and conservation project management.
  • Demonstrated history of working with threatened or endangered species in challenging field conditions.
  • Skilled in training and mentoring teams, including local and indigenous communities.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills for ecological data interpretation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Philippine wildlife, particularly species behavior, habitat usage, and population trends.
  • Experienced in community engagement, biodiversity surveys, and ethnobiological research.
  • Familiar with monitoring methodologies for Rare, Threatened, and Endangered Species (RTES).
