About the Role

Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) is looking for a strategic and results-driven Corporate Communications Manager to lead both internal and external communication efforts. This role is vital in building an informed, connected workforce and protecting and enhancing the company's corporate reputation. The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with strong leadership, excellent writing and media relations skills, and experience in managing both people and large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external communication strategies to support business goals, ensure brand consistency, and manage crisis response.
  • Oversee media relations and corporate messaging, including executive communications, public relations events, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage and develop the communications team, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and high-quality output.

Preferred Training & Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in communications, corporate governance, or sustainability.
  • IMS and Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) mandated trainings.
  • Familiarity with Sustainability Reporting frameworks such as GRI and TCFD.
  • Awareness of current global trends in reporting and reputation management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, Advertising, or related courses required
  • At least seven (7) years of working experience in the field of communications
  • At least two (2) years of experience of managing a communications team
  • Track record in developing and executing successful internal and external communication strategies
  • Exemplary writing and editing skills for a diverse audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder relationships
  • Has strong project management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with executives and cross-functional teams
  • Preferably with experience working in the mining/energy sector or publicly listed companies
  • Background in sustainability communications and crisis communications is a plus
