
Importation Specialist

The Importation Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring HVAC-related products through international channels, managing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient procurement processes for HVAC components and equipment. This role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring industry trends to ensure the availability of high-quality products at competitive prices while optimizing inventory turnover and supplier performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation
- Evaluates and selects HVAC suppliers based on product quality, pricing, delivery reliability, and service capabilities.
- Negotiates contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions that align with company needs.
- Develops and maintains strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term collaboration and high-quality performance.
2. Industry Trend Monitoring
- Stays updated on the latest industry trends, new HVAC technologies, and emerging products.
- Identifies opportunities for new products or alternative suppliers that can enhance the business's competitiveness or cost efficiency.
3.Procurement Process Management
- Manages procurement activities, including placing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of HVAC products.
- Ensures procurement processes comply with company policies and industry regulations
4. Supplier Performance Monitoring
- Continuously assesses supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery timelines, and customer service.
- Works with suppliers to resolve any issues related to product quality or delivery delays and ensure corrective actions are taken.
5. Cost Management and Negotiation
- Negotiates competitive pricing with suppliers to maximize cost savings and ensure value for money on all HVAC-related products.
- Tracks and reports on procurement costs and identify areas for improvement in cost efficiency.
6. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
- Collaborates with internal teams (such as operations, sales, and technical teams) to understand product needs and ensure the right HVAC products are procured.
- Provides product information and support to other departments as needed.
7. Procurement Reporting
- Maintains accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and inventory levels for HVAC products.
- Prepare regular procurement reports, including inventory turnover rates, supplier performance metrics, and cost analysis, for the procurement manager and relevant stakeholders.
Other Duties:
Performs other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- With at least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a focus on HVAC products (preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, market research and trends and logistics.
- Knowledge of HVAC products and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills

- Organizational, and time-management abilities
- Motivated, flexible, disciplined, and able to work under pressure
