Demand Planner

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand forecasts for the company's products. This role involves analyzing sales trends, market conditions, and inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and support the overall supply chain strategy.

The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting product demand to ensure that the company's supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This role requires close collaboration with Supply Planners and Business Unit Heads to align supply and demand, optimize inventory levels, and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting:

• Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and business insights.
• Utilize statistical tools and software to predict future product demand.
• Regularly update forecasts based on changes in market conditions, promotional activities, and product lifecycle stages.

Collaboration with Supply Planners:

• Work closely with Supply Planners to ensure that supply plans align with demand forecasts.
• Communicate forecast changes promptly to Supply Planners to adjust shipment schedules and inventory plans.
• Participate in regular supply planning meetings to discuss forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and potential supply chain disruptions.

Collaboration with Business Unit Heads:

• Engage with Business Unit Heads to understand sales targets, marketing plans, and product launches.
• Incorporate business unit inputs into demand forecasts to ensure alignment with overall business strategies.
• Provide demand insights and analytics to support decision-making by Business Unit Heads.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stock is available to meet demand without excessive overstock.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and collaborate with BU Heads to develop action plans.
• Analyze and report on key inventory metrics such as turnover rates, stockouts, and service levels.

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP):

• Participate in the S&OP process to align demand forecasts with sales and production plans.
• Present demand forecasts and assumptions during S&OP meetings, addressing any discrepancies or concerns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve consensus on demand plans and resolve conflicts.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyze sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to refine demand forecasts.
• Generate regular reports on forecast accuracy, demand trends, and inventory performance.
• Use insights from data analysis to recommend improvements in forecasting processes and strategies.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to enhance demand planning processes and tools.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in demand planning and supply chain management.
• Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency.
• Can be fresh grad or 2-3yrs of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain role.
• Experience working with forecasting software and ERP systems.
