Finance Analyst

WSP, a world leading management and consultancy firm, currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst.

The purpose of the role is to provide reporting, planning and other support to the Finance Business Partnering team within the NZ region. The Finance Analyst will build trusted relationships with the Finance Business Partnering team and support the process of simplifying and improving efficiency in our monthly reporting and planning processes

What you'll do:

Business performance reporting

• Assist in the build and delivery of consistent, accurate and timely financial and operational reports for the NZ sectors, using the best possible medium (Excel, Power BI, etc)
• Monitor project and month end exception reports to anticipate financial risk (e.g. margin erosion trend, unbilled trend, profitability trend) and escalate issues to the appropriate teams
• Support the monitoring and control of operational expenditure via review of the relevant profit and loss statements and general ledger accounts as required
• Support the Finance Business Partnering team as required for ad hoc reporting and insight requests
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach.

Forecasting and Planning Support

• Support Finance Business Partners with data modelling for forecasting purposes as needed
• Quality check planning and forecasting information according to corporate and business group deadlines
• Consolidate planning inputs for review and enter into ERP

Other

• To provide high quality services to WSP's internal clients, fostering teamwork and collaboration with various internal teams to support and drive the ongoing success and growth of the organisation.
• Comply with all role specific Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) obligations as detailed in the employment agreement and WSP policies, procedures and matrices (which may be introduced or updated from time to time).
• Take responsibility for your self-development including developing goals through regular and relevant Thrive conversations, completing specified eLearning tasks, keeping up-to-date with relevant developments in your practice area and updating the Capabilities Database for sharing capabilities and qualifications within the business.
• Achieve and/or maintain professional registrations/licences relevant to your role.
• Perform other duties which are reasonably incidental to this position, as directed by the Company from time to time.
