CCTV Technician

The CCTV Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security camera systems across company buses and facility premises. This includes mobile DVRs, IP/analog cameras, GPS tracking units, USB charging ports, and related power and network systems. The technician ensures that all surveillance and auxiliary systems function reliably to support the company's operational safety and security objectives.

Key Responsibilities1. Installation and Setup

• Install and configure CCTV systems on buses (mobile DVRs, cameras, power wiring, and monitors).
• Install CCTV and surveillance systems across depots, workshops, parking areas, and offices.
• Fit and connect USB charging ports and related electrical accessories on buses and facilities.
• Install and integrate GPS tracking devices for fleet monitoring and data synchronization.
• Ensure all installations follow electrical and vehicle safety standards, with neat cable routing and secure mounting.
• Test and verify camera views, video recording quality, GPS signal strength, and USB port functionality.

2. Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections of CCTV, GPS, and USB port systems.
• Diagnose and repair faulty components such as cameras, DVRs, GPS trackers, power supplies, and USB circuits.
• Replace defective cables, connectors, or modules as needed.
• Update firmware, configurations, and perform system backups.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.

3. Technical Support and Documentation

• Provide technical support for video retrieval, GPS reports, and data export from DVRs or storage media.
• Assist with reviewing and archiving CCTV and GPS footage/data when requested by security or operations teams.
• Maintain system configuration files, wiring diagrams, and inventory of tools and materials.

4. Compliance and Safety

• Ensure all installations comply with electrical safety, vehicle wiring, and data protection regulations.
• Adhere to company health, safety, and quality standards.
• Support the implementation of fleet monitoring and security improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in CCTV or vehicle electrical installations.
• Experience with mobile DVRs, GPS systems, and USB power installations is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of analog and IP camera systems, DVR/NVR setup, and network configuration (TCP/IP).
• Understanding of vehicle electrical systems (12V/24V) and power distribution.
• Familiarity with GPS trackers, antenna placement, and software configuration.
• Ability to install USB ports and ensure proper power output and protection.
• Skilled in using hand tools, multimeters, crimpers, cable testers, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read electrical and schematic diagrams.
