Responsibilities
  • Create game concepts and mechanics, focusing on user experience, game balance, and engagement.
  • Develop level designs, including maps, challenges, and player progression, that offer a fun and rewarding experience.
  • Write and maintain design documentation, communicating vision and mechanics clearly to the development team.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and seamless implementation of game features.
  • Monitor and analyse in-game metrics to identify areas for improvement and balancing.
  • Ensure that game performance is optimised across different platforms and devices.
  • Stay updated with player preferences, technological trends, and competitor analysis to ensure the game remains relevant.
  • Experiment with innovative gameplay elements and push the boundaries of game design.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Should have experience as a Game Designer
  • Strong understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, design theory, systems, and level design.
  • Proficiency in game development software such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Proven experience with scripting and level design.
  • Experience in designing games across various platforms (e.g., PC, console, mobile).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python) for prototyping and level scripting.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and their impact on game experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to iterate based on feedback and testing.
  • Solid analytical skills and experience with player data analysis to drive design decisions.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of what makes a game fun, engaging, and successful.
