Job Description: Accounting and Payroll Staff

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting and Payroll Staff to manage our payroll processing and assist with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate must be proficient in local payroll regulations and standard accounting principles.

II. Key Responsibilities

A. Payroll Management

  • Process Payroll: Accurately and timely process bi-monthly or weekly payroll for all employees, including calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Government Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate remittance and reporting of all mandatory government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and withholding taxes (BIR Form 2307, 2316, etc.)
  • Timekeeping: Verify and reconcile employee daily time records (DTRs), leave credits, and attendance data with the payroll system.
  • Employee Relations: Address and resolve employee queries regarding paychecks, deductions, and other payroll-related concerns in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and secure payroll records, including employee files and mandated reports.

B. Accounting Support

  • General Accounting: Assist in preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger
  • Financial Documentation: Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of financial records in compliance with established company policies.
  • Audit Assistance: Prepare and provide necessary documentation and reports for internal and external audits.

III. Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related business course.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of proven work experience in payroll processing and general accounting functions, preferably in a manufacturing or electric utility setup.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll laws and mandatory benefits.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and accounting systems.
  • Advanced competency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
