Role Overview
The Rostering Officer will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating support workers to meet the needs of NDIS participants. This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Rostering & Scheduling
- Develop, manage, and maintain rosters to ensure all participant support needs are met.
- Allocate appropriate staff based on skills, availability, preferences, and NDIS participant plans.
- Monitor roster changes, cancellations, and replacements to minimise service disruption.
- Act as the first point of contact for participants and support workers regarding scheduling.
- Ensure participants receive consistent and reliable support tailored to their individual needs.
- Respond promptly to urgent rostering issues and after-hours requirements (if applicable).
- Ensure rosters comply with NDIS guidelines, funding requirements, and Fair Work regulations.
- Accurately record shift details in the rostering system and maintain up-to-date participant and staff records.
- Collaborate with HR to manage staff availability, leave requests, and timesheet accuracy.
- Work closely with service delivery teams, support coordinators, and managers to align rosters with care plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in rostering efficiency and service delivery.
- Contribute to reporting and data analysis on rostering performance.
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Community Services, or related field (preferred but not essential).
- Previous experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination (NDIS or aged care sector preferred).
- Familiarity with NDIS frameworks, compliance, and service delivery standards.
- Experience with rostering systems/software (e.g., ShiftCare, Deputy, Lumary, or similar).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, participants, and families.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and scheduling.
- Problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts and staffing gaps effectively.
