The Facility Maintenance Helper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and maintenance of the store premises, including all equipment. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, assisting in general cleaning operations across multiple store branches, and monitoring the condition of the store's facilities and equipment to address any maintenance needs promptly. The Facility Maintenance Helper must communicate effectively with their superior regarding any concerns or issues.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning and Upkeep:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all areas of the store.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and machines, including regular cleaning, wiping, dusting, and disinfection.
- Ensure windows, glass panels, and light fixtures are spotless and free of smudges or dust.
- Empty and clean trash bins and ensure proper waste disposal procedures.
Equipment and Facility Monitoring:
- Regularly inspect machines, fixtures, and furniture for signs of wear or damage.
- Monitor the condition of store facilities, including plumbing, lighting, and electrical
components, to ensure optimal operation.
- Assisting of contractor/maintenance personnel for store and equipment repair.
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, or other concerns to the Facilities and
- Maintenance Manager or Branch/Area Manager immediately.
General Cleaning Operations:
- Participate in scheduled general cleaning activities for all store branches (seven (7)
branches).
- Work collaboratively with operations team members to execute deep cleaning tasks, including scrubbing floors, high-level dusting, and cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Track cleaning supplies and tools, ensuring sufficient stock is available.
- Request replenishment of cleaning materials and tools as needed to Purchasing and Logistic Department
SPECIALTEAS INC.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols during cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure the use of appropriate cleaning chemicals and tools in compliance with company policies.
Communication and Reporting:
- Proactively communicate with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager or Branch/Area Manager regarding any issues, concerns, or updates.
- Provide regular updates on completed tasks and ongoing maintenance requirements.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with minor repairs, such as fixing door handles, replacing light bulbs, or tightening fixtures.
- Securing work permits for store and equipment maintenance, such as pest control, ice machine, aircon cleaning and etc.
- Support other team members in maintaining an organized and welcoming store environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Manager or Store Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in cleaning or maintenance roles preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift moderate weights.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel between store branches.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule, but limited to weekends off (depending on the schedule set by the Superior).
