Position Title:
Cyber Automation Engineer

Role Overview

The Cyber Automation Engineer is responsible for enhancing enterprise cybersecurity operations through the design, development, and maintenance of automated security workflows aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover). This role leverages Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms, cloud technologies, and containerized environments to improve incident response efficiency and overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated incident response playbooks and security workflows using SOAR platforms.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain Python-based scripts, integrations, and libraries to support security automation.
  • Administer and support containerized environments using Docker/Podman and Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Manage and integrate Azure cloud services, including CI/CD pipelines, repositories, Key Vault, virtual machines, and load balancers.
  • Administer and support Elasticsearch clusters and integrations with SIEM platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional cyber, IT, and product teams to identify risks, improve security capabilities, and deliver solutions in an Agile/DevOps environment.
  • Document solutions, processes, and operational procedures to ensure maintainability and compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity automation, incident response, or related technical roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience working with APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity incident response processes and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Experience administering Linux systems (preferably RHEL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure cloud services and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch administration and SIEM integrations.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning or AI applications in cybersecurity operations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Work Environment

This role operates within an Agile/SAFe delivery model and requires close collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to continuously improve cybersecurity capabilities.
