The Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining industrial automation systems for various electro-mechanical projects. The role includes programming PLCs (preferably Siemens), integrating instrumentation with mechanical/electrical systems, performing on-site installations, and ensuring seamless operation of automated processes. The ideal candidate has solid technical foundations, hands-on field exposure, and a strong understanding of automation and instrumentation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Siemens platform), including Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and other logic structures.

Execute on-site tasks such as:

HMI installation and configuration

Instrumentation and sensor integration

Wiring, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.

Integrate electro-mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, VFDs, sensors, actuators, panels) into automation and control systems.

Interpret and analyze automation plans, instrumentation diagrams, P&ID, control philosophies, and electrical schematics.

Conduct system diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of automation/controls issues.

Assist in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and project turnover documentation.

Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and project engineering teams to ensure proper system functionality.

Prepare technical reports, configuration documents, and system backups.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

6 months to 1 year experience in automation, instrumentation, PLC programming, or control systems.

TESDA-based applicants (OJT experience or certification holders) with strong technical skillsets are also encouraged to apply.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal preferred).

Knowledge in:

Ladder Logic

FBD & Structured Text (optional but an advantage)

HMI design & deployment

SCADA basics (advantage)

Understanding of industrial instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, temperature sensors).

Familiar with communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).

Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and automation design plans.

Hands-on experience in electro-mechanical system integration.

Basic understanding of VFDs, MCCs, motor controls, relays, and safety interlocks.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Good communication skills for client and team coordination.

Willingness to travel for site works and project deployment.

High sense of responsibility, discipline, and commitment to deadlines.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

TESDA NC II or NC III in Instrumentation & Control Servicing, Mechatronics Servicing, Electrical Installation & Maintenance, or related fields.

Relevant OJT or project-based experience in automation works.

Knowledge in panel wiring, loop checking, and commissioning.

Experience with other PLC brands (Omron, Mitsubishi, Delta, etc.) is a plus.
