Maintenance Staff

Job Summary

The Maintenance Staff is responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of the medical center's facilities, equipment, and utilities. This role supports the hospital's operations by maintaining a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for patients, employees, and visitors in compliance with healthcare standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of hospital facilities, utilities, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural issues.
• Assist in the installation, calibration, and minor servicing of non-medical equipment (e.g., lighting, air-conditioning, water systems).
• Ensure proper functioning of emergency systems (generators, fire alarms, sprinklers, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance work areas and tools.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments and prioritize urgent repairs.
• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs or specialized services.
• Document all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs in logs and reports.
• Comply with safety standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies.
• Assist in setting up equipment, furniture, and utilities for hospital events or emergencies.

Qualifications

• At least a High School Graduate or a Technical/Vocational Graduate (TESDA NC II/NC III preferred in Electrical Installation, Plumbing, or Building Maintenance).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in facility or building maintenance, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge in safety protocols and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Willing to work in shifts, weekends, and during emergencies.
