JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Conducts the daily endorsement.
  • Conducts rounds with the nursing staff on all patients in the area of the unit at least twice (at the end of endorsement and before the end of the shift).
  • Performs electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Ensures that the cardiac monitor is operative.
  • Partake in changing nebulization every time and when needed
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
  • Participates in the transfer of equipment and supplies to and from other Cardiopulmonary Departments as necessary
  • Initiates and monitors Mechanical Ventilator support including equipment monitoring
  • Ensures doctors order are carried out
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education of patients with cardiopulmonary impairment as directed by the physician.
  • Evaluate effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress
  • Assists in follow-up the results of all laboratories and diagnostic procedures.
  • Checks the unit and patients rooms for equipment and safety issues.
  • Communicates with the Resident Physician in terms of referral and relaying ancillary procedures.

QUALIFICATION

  • Passed the Respiratory Therapist Board Examination in Professional Regulation Commission.
