Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities:
  1. Collects specimen from patient needing pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
  2. Makes accurate documentation on the pulmonary treatment, patient’s response and any adverse reactions. The RT Supervisor and the nurse-on-duty should be notified at once on any noted adverse reactions.
  3. Validates the accuracy and signs all official documents related to RT procedures accomplished by the respiratory therapy assistant(s).
  4. Monitors patients hooked to any cardiopulmonary equipment. Coordinates with the attending physician for any adjustments and institutes the prescribed changes.
  5. Acts as a member of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation team.
  6. Processes patients needing pulmonary services and takes care of patients attached to mechanical ventilators.
  7. Participates in any company training.
  8. Evaluates and maintains the proper operating conditions of all equipment/instrument to meet the safety standard for both patient and respiratory therapy staff.
  9. Prevents the spread of infection by strictly following the infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines.
  10. Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly fashion at all times.
  11. Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as requested by the RT Supervisor, Area Manager, and the MSA-PH officers.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of BS Respiratory Therapy
  2. Licensed Respiratory Therapist per Republic Act Number 10024
  3. Preferably experienced working as a Respiratory Therapist for at least one (1) year
  4. Good clinical and technical skills
  5. Computer literate
  6. Good communication skills
