About the Role

A Senior Power BI developer is hired to design and develop BI reports and for providing insights to improve decision-making. The role of this developer requires him/her to have wide knowledge over business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modelling, database, and technical aspects of BI tools; and to be able to implement and manage end to end medium to large scale BI projects.

Essential Duties

• Power BI development and administration and management of medium to large scale projects.
• Building Analysis Services reporting models.
• Developing visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
• Connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
• Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals.
• Implementation of row-level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.
• Proficient in making DAX queries on Power BI desktop.
• Expertise in using advanced level calculations on the data set.
• Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
• Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards.
• Developing, publishing, and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
• Work on prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
• Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.
• Develop custom visuals for Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field - IT, Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in IT
• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
• Industry experience is preferred
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
