Platform Engineering Lead – Remote

This investment will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australia's strategic national security demands. We are looking for a Platform Engineering Lead to spearhead the development and management of our core platform products (database, backup, etc.). Your expertise will be key to creating robust, scalable cloud-based solutions. This is a remote role and is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing and integrating cutting-edge cloud products that protect some of Australia's most critical data.

You will be responsible for:

• Building and managing our container-based orchestration stack, including Kubernetes and GitLab for CI/CD, working within a dynamic OpenStack and Kubernetes (K8s) environment.
• Mentoring engineers and interfacing effectively with product, portfolio, and operations teams.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements to deliver sound system requirements and product design documentation.
• Assist in developing and managing the Vault SDLC including the tooling, processes and languages required to support DevOps practices.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

• Proven experience leading teams focused on platform layer solutions and cloud-native technologies
• Experience in design and architecture of platform orchestration
• Expertise in GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in delivery of required outcomes
• Broad set of technical skills and knowledge across hardware, software, systems and solutions development and a across more than one technical domain
• Demonstrated ability to quickly perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technology or approach
