Vault Cloud is the national leader of providing highly secure and scalable sovereign cloud capability to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector. As we continue to lead in technological advancements, Vault is now entering a defining phase of growth with a strategic $22.5 million investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC). This investment will scale Vaults SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability, directly addressing Australias strategic national security demands. Vault is now positioned to not only strengthen its existing relationships with federal and state government agencies, but also strengthen its relationships with private sector businesses requiring secure cloud storage.To support this growth, we are bolstering our capability by adding numerous key roles that are integral to our future success. We are looking for a
Platform Engineering Lead
to spearhead the development and management of our core platform products (database, backup, etc.). Your expertise will be key to creating robust, scalable cloud-based solutions. This is a remote role and is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing and integrating cutting-edge cloud products that protect some of Australia's most critical data.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Building and managing our container-based orchestration stack, including Kubernetes and GitLab for CI/CD, working within a dynamic OpenStack and Kubernetes (K8s) environment.
• Mentoring engineers and interfacing effectively with product, portfolio, and operations teams.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements to deliver sound system requirements and product design documentation.
• Assist in developing and managing the Vault SDLC including the tooling, processes and languages required to support DevOps practices.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

• Proven experience leading teams focused on platform layer solutions and cloud-native technologies
• Experience in design and architecture of platform orchestration
• Expertise in GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in delivery of required outcomes
• Broad set of technical skills and knowledge across hardware, software, systems and solutions development and a across more than one technical domain
• Demonstrated ability to quickly perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technology or approach
• A passion for technology and security
