Job Summary

The Category Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving the commercial performance of assigned retail categories by managing assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory. The role focuses on maximizing sales, margins, and customer satisfaction through data-driven merchandising strategies, strong supplier partnerships, and effective execution across stores or online channels.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute category merchandising strategies aligned with company goals
  • Define assortment plans based on customer insights, trends, and space availability
  • Manage category lifecycle including new product introductions and delisting.

Sales & Profitability Management

  • Drive category sales, margin, and profitability targets
  • Analyze weekly/monthly performance and identify corrective actions
  • Optimize pricing architecture and promotional effectiveness

Inventory & Availability

  • Ensure optimal stock levels to maximize availability and reduce stock-outs
  • Manage inventory turnover, aging stock, and markdown strategies
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams on forecasting and replenishment

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Negotiate commercial terms, costs, and promotional funding with suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality, and service levels
  • Build strong partnerships to support growth initiatives

Merchandising Execution

  • Ensure correct product placement, planogram compliance, and visual standards
  • Coordinate promotional execution across stores and channels
  • Work closely with marketing teams on campaigns and launches

Reporting & Analysis

  • Track category KPIs and prepare performance reports
  • Use data to identify growth, optimization, and cost-saving opportunities

Required Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or Supply Chain
  • 3-5+ years of experience in retail merchandising or category management
  • Strong negotiations, presentation and interpersonal skills

Work Environment

  • Retail head office
  • Regular interaction with stores, suppliers, and cross-functional teams

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php40, Php60,000.00 per month
