Category Manager

About the Role
Oversee a wide-ranging portfolio of 4,000 to 16,000 SKUs across multiple consumer electronics categories. Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and consistent product availability.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end merchandise planning and category management process, including product sourcing, price negotiation, vendor management, inventory planning, and purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for category expansion, product rationalization, and market differentiation.
- Analyze sales data, consumer trends, and inventory metrics to guide buying strategies and category performance.
- Drive alignment between merchandising, sales, logistics, and marketing to optimize sell-through and maximize margins.
- Plan and execute seasonal campaigns, promotional strategies, and product lifecycle management.
- Mentor, manage, and motivate a small team of buyers or category specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking, market analysis, and new product scouting to maintain category competitiveness.
- Regularly report on category performance, supplier metrics, and business insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in category management, procurement, or merchandising, specifically in the consumer electronics industry.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume SKU portfolio (4,000–16,000 SKUs) across diverse product categories.
- Strong expertise in:
- Sourcing, ordering, and procurement
- Vendor negotiation and relationship management
- Pricing strategy and margin optimization
- Preferably with experience in handling gadgets, smart devices, laptops, audio products, gaming accessories, storage devices, and cameras.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and guide a small team.
- Self-starter with a doer mentality — hands-on, execution-focused, and accountable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, inventory systems, and ERP/purchasing platforms.
- Must be willing to work onsite in Arca South, Taguig City.
Pay range and compensation package
Earn up to 80k monthly + allowances
